JahTours Spring 1989:

1989 After ten years on the Riviera I became a little desillousioned with Monaco. And my studies in computer science and electronical engineering took their toll, even less time for Monaco and Menton this year. JahTours summer 1989:

This summer I was working with Alcatel in Stuttgart and took the night-train to Ventimiglia. Much faster than the biketours in the preceeding years!

Riding the trains through Italy was always fun, trains are a lot cheaper than in northern Europe and the everybody takes them. For the nights I often arranged '3-bed compartments' with travellers I met on the train. The trick is to take the train where it starts and to draw the curtain early.

1989 was the last complete JahTours year, with the end of my studies in EE and CS also the traditional summer weeks in Menton will find an end. Summer 89 we had a lot local contacts, together with a few new faces from Germany and some old-timers it made an exciting mix for a few weeks of summer fun.

After a few exciting days in the summer I made it back to the coas early september to find the usual places, good sunshine and just before it was time to leave, a nice rainbow!
